Hanuted House Season

Image
Hey everyone, We have been pretty busy lately, since I started work this week, and Adair continues to count the days until the sweet sweet solace of Thanksgiving Holiday, so we haven't had much time to blog. However, I just put Adair down for a nap after she pounded a large strawberry-flavored daiquiri, and I found myself with ample time to put out a few updates. First of all, last week we took a fun trip to one of the country's most highly touted haunted houses, the "House of Shock," which luckily happened to be only a short distance from our apartment. As many of you know, Halloween tends to be Adair's favorite holiday, so we have to go to one of these places at least one each year. They really went all out to put on a show and give us some good scares. Although we didn't get too many great pictures, the following few should give you some small indication of what it was like: Yes, that guy is hanging from hooks in his skin... Anyway, it

Coming Up Roses

Hey everyone, Last week may honestly rank among the absolute worst weeks of my entire privileged white boy life. I was flat on by back, or in the bathroom, for 7 days straight, without respite. Although Adair took incredibly good care of me (seriously, she's amazing) it was tough to not get down on myself, Louisiana, and just life in general. I feel like going days without seeing the sun will do that to you. But, I am back on my feet, and things are already looking much better. I can eat real food, play outside, or at the very least sit up long enough to read some Game of Thrones. More importantly, various events have begun to go our way. First of all, the Ducks are on Thursday night at a reasonable hour, and I can't wait. Second, the weather is significantly cooling off, and I can occasionally wear jeans and even more than one layer. You have no idea how good it feels; but I'll try not to harp on the weather too much, as it is my understanding that in Oregon, the hea

Food Poisoning and Other Awesome Activities

Hi all, Here I sit, on day two of a nasty bout of food poisoning. On a related note, here's a tip: If you ever get a craving for a cod, shrimp, and oyster po boy cooked in a gas station setting...resist that urge. Otherwise, you may end up missing more than half of your unnecessary fall break. Aaaaaanywho, Adair and I had some fun recently, attending the Gretna Heritage Festival. Great food, drinks, and art all over the place, it was really cool. Plus, due to some connections, we got in for free! While there, we saw a concert from the motown group The Spinners, which was both awesome and hilarious. They came out in five matching yellow suits, and their classic dance moves and harmonies had everyone loving it. Here's a picture: In other news, we have been playing a fair amount of tennis on the courts at our apartment complex, and Adair is making some great progress. More to come soon, need to re-hydrate...

The Law Student Bestiary

Hi everyone, Since Adair and I have had very few blog-worthy excursions lately, I must admit that there has been a serious dearth of content posted to our blog over the last few weeks. By way of apology, and hopefully to keep our beloved readers' interested, I now submit to you all a few excerpts from my upcoming encyclopedia "The Law Student Bestiary." Enjoy, but be warned, some entries might come off as a little mean, slightly elitist, possibly inappropriate, or just generally snarky. ... The Law Student Bestiary A most glorious and accurate recounting of every dread species that one may encounter upon gaining entry to any one of this fine nation’s institutions of legal pedagogy. ______________________ //______________________ The Unashamed Gunner We must begin with one of the most well-known and well-documented species in the law school community, the Unashamed Gunner ( prickus smarterthanus ). This creature, usually unmistakable at a gla
